Newtown Rovers Football Club was founded back in 1975 and joined the Colchester
& District Sunday League the following season.
To date, Newtown are the longest serving club in the Sunday League and
have 2 teams (1st team & Reserves) competing in Divisions 2 & 3 respectively.
This season (2006/2007), the club is playing its' 31st season
as a League club.
Longest serving player is Kevin Davies who has been with the club since
the beginning, he is also Club Chairman & Reserve Team Manager.

Newtown Rovers are affiliated to The Essex County Football Association

Newtown Rovers are currently raising funds for the National Association
of Colitis & Crohns. This has been our chosen beneficiary charity in memory of former player Nick Coppin, a crohns sufferer,
who tragically died in 1999 from cancer, age 35
